ANKARA - Turkish State Minister and Deputy Premier Cemil Cicek said on Wednesday that most of the recent bloody attacks would not have taken place if those who sent condolence messages to Turkey had taken precautions beforehand.
"Some of those parties have responsibility concerning this bloodshed," said Cicek, delivering a speech at the Turkish parliament regarding the motion extending the government`s mandate to order cross-border operations to the north of Iraq.
Noting that Turkey had been dealing with terrorism for nearly 40 years, Cicek said that not a single terrorist organization could survive for long years without support from external sources.
Cicek said at least one-third of the terrorists hiding in the mountains were not of Turkish origin.
He also said that some countries provided a private shelter for terrorists with their companies, insititutions, associations or foundations.
"None of the responsible terrorists were extradited to Turkey up to now. Because, they have close connections with the intelligence organizations of those countries. If such countries send these terrorists back to Turkey, their games will be revealed. Therefore, they have not displayed any sincere efforts yet," Cicek said.
Cicek also said that Turkey was determined to carry out a long-term fight against terrorism, adding that it expected a more sincere cooperation from other countries.
