Turkish Parliament Adopts Motion Extending Government's Mandate To Order Cross-border Operations

ANKARA - Turkish Parliament adopted Wednesday a Prime Ministry motion extending by one year the government`s mandate to order cross-border operations against terrorist activities targeting Turkey waged from the north of Iraq.
The motion extends the government`s mandate for one more year starting from October 17th, 2008.
A total of 529 MPs attended the voting at the parliament. 511 MPs voted in favor of the motion, while 18 voted against it.
