President Gul Meets Tatar - Turks In Finland

HELSINKI - Turkish President Abdullah Gul met with the Tatar-Turks living in Helsinki as part of his talks in Finland on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Tatar-Turkish Center, Gul said that he is "excited to be with Tatar-Turks living in Finland."
Reminding that Finnish President Tarja Halonen praised the Tatar-Turks, Gul said that "your differences add strength and color to Finland."
We are pleased to see the Tatar-Turks as a strong community sharing our identical culture, Gul stressed.
The Tatar-Turks are an economic and cultural bridge between Turkey and Finland, Gul noted.
President Gul advised the Tatar-Turks to grow young generations with the same understanding.
President of the Tatar-Turks Society in Finland, Okan Daher, said that they were pleased and honored to welcome President Abdullah Gul to Finland.
Giving information on the Tatar-Turks` past and current activities in Finland, Daher said that the Finnish state makes important contributions to the Tatar-Turks in preserving their identity and traditions.
"We have always been against radicalism. Problems should be solved peacefully and through just ways," Daher said.
