Bosnian President Arrives On First Visit To Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 24 (AFP) - President of Bosnia and Hercegovina, Sulejman Tihic arrived in Pakistan Tuesday on a four-day visit aimed at boosting trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, officials said.
Tihic, who is the first head of state of Bosnia-Hercegovina to visit Pakistan, will meet with President Pervez Musharraf and Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz, who is to take over as prime minister this week, a foreign ministry statement said.
Talks will focus on bilateral matters including trade and economic ties and regional and international issues, including Afghanistan, Iraq and revitalization of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, it said.
The Bosnian leader will also meet Pakistani investors and business leaders to generate flows of investment in both countries, the statement said.
Tihic is accompanied by Foreign Minister Mladen Ivanic and investment officials.
Annual trade between the two countries is currently a modest 500,000 dollars.
