ADANA - A total of 217 shopping malls are currently operating in Turkey, while 71 new are being constructed and 31 more are being designed.
Avi Alkas, Director General of the Turkey branch of Jones Lang Lasalle, a financial and professional services firm specializing in real estate and investment management, told A.A that the number of shopping malls in Turkey was increasing day by day.
Alkas said there were currently 217 shopping malls in the country, 144 of which were located in Anatolian cities. He said 73 of these malls were in Istanbul.
Alkas also said that the shopping malls in Turkey were constructed on a 4.5 million-squaremeter area in total.
Noting that the shopping mall sector would continue to develop in the upcoming period, Alkas said the new malls to be constructed should offer architectural and conceptual innovations in order to be differed from each other.
