ANKARA - Turkey has asked for more cooperation with the United States in the fight against terror.
Undersecretary of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ertugrul Apakan invited the U.S. Ambassador in Ankara Ross Wilson to the ministry on Sunday and urged the U.S. to extend more support to Turkey in its fight against terror.
Apakan informed Wilson about the sensitivity the recent attack of terrorist PKK on a Turkish outpost generated in the Turkish society and pointed out that the regional administration in north of Iraq is not "dealing with terrorist PKK organization effectively".
Turkey gave a diplomatic note to Iraq and encouraged Iraqi authorities to arrest those responsible in the recent attack on a Turkish military outpost in Hakkari and requested the Iraqis to take the necessary measures so that similar incidents would not repeat.
