Turkish Cypriots To Get U.S. Visa More Easily

LEFKOSA - Turkish Cypriots will now get U.S. visa more easily, it was announced.
Releasing a statement on Tuesday, the U.S. Embassy in Greek Cypriot side said that Turkish Cypriots who did not aim to migrate could get U.S. visa in one or two days. Earlier getting U.S. visa could take a couple of weeks.
U.S. Ambassador in Greek Cypriot side Michael Klosson said that they were very pleased to get positive results of their efforts purporting to facilitate Turkish Cypriot tourists' and businessmen's visits to the United States.
Earlier Turkish Cypriot tourists, businessmen and students were able to get two-year visas with multiple entrance in accordance with a practice which has been in force for a couple of months.
The U.S. Embassy noted that there was not any change in visa application procedure, but Turkish Cypriot tourists, businessmen and students could get their visas in a short time after they submit their application.
The statement said that some sort of applications have to be examined in Washington, D.C., adding that those applications could be concluded generally in one or two weeks.
