ANKARA - Turkey`s exports were up 37.4 percent between January and August when compared to the same period in 2007, announced the Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) on Friday.
In the period between January-August, Turkey`s exports were worth 92.489 billion USD.
According to TUIK, Turkey`s imports between January and August were up 35.8 percent when compared to the same term last year. During the January-August period, Turkey`s imports were worth 145.577 billion USD.
In the first eight months of 2008, Turkey`s foreign trade deficit climbed to 53.88 billion USD.
