LEFKOSA - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Turgay Avci, met with the UN Under Secretary General for Political Affairs Lynn Pascoe in New York on Thursday.
Avci met Pascoe at the UN headquarters.
Turgay Avci discussed with Pascoe the recent developments in Cyprus, Greek Cypriots` attitude that is getting tougher, and the speech delivered by Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias at the UN General Assembly that included sentences unacceptable by the Turkish Cypriots.
-MEETING WITH QATARI AND AZERBAIJANI MINISTERS-
As part of his contacts in New York, Turgay Avci met with the Qatari Minister of International Cooperation Khalid bin Muhammad al-Atiyah and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Avci thanked al-Atiyah for the support and understanding of the Qatari government that led to the opening of a TRNC office in Doha.
