Turkish Security Forces Arrest 78 Illegal Migrants

CANAKKALE/AYDIN/KARABURUN - Turkish security forces captured 78 illegal migrants throughout the country on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, coast guard teams detained 13 people in a boat off Ayvacik town of the western province of Canakkale. The illegal migrants were attempting to cross into the Greek island of Lesbos.
In a separate operation in Didim town of the Aegean province of Aydin, gendarmery teams arrested 22 illegal migrants.
Also, security forces caught 43 illegal migrants in Karaburun town of the Aegean province of Izmir when they were trying to cross into Greek islands.
The illegal migrants were of Mauritanian, Afghan, Palestinian origin. They will be deported once legal proceedings are completed.
