NEW YORK - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan has said Turkish-U.S. relations have been based on "friendship, mutual confidence and alliance".
Babacan delivered a speech on Turkish foreign policy at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, the United States.
Turkey and the United States attached a great importance to several issues such as fighting against terrorism, bringing stability to Balkans and Caucasus as well as Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Lebanon and Middle East.
Replying to a question, Babacan said the relationship between Turkey and the United States has been tested from time to time but it became a model of success for the region and the world.
