Turkey Is An Excellent Ally, U.S. Secretary Of State

NEW YORK - U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, said Monday that Turkey was an excellent ally.
Answering a question of a foreign journalist before meeting Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan, Rice said that Turkey had been an excellent ally of the United States in many crisis, including the recent Caucasus crisis.
Turkey is an important country in the region for a peaceful Caucasus, Rice stressed.
Babacan`s meeting with Rice began at 1845 hours (Turkish local time) and lasted around 40 minutes.
Ali Babacan will continue to hold talks in New York where he is attending the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly.
