UNITED NATIONS - Turkish President Abdullah Gul met on Monday new President of U.N. General Assembly Miguel D`Escoto Brockmann in New York.
Gul is currently in New York to attend the 63rd session of the U.N. General Assembly.
The meeting that took place in D`Escoto`s office in the U.N., was closed to the press.
Following the meeting, Gul participated in opening of a meeting on "Development Needs of Africa" organized in the U.N. General Assembly.
Gul is scheduled to address a round table meeting on Africa afterwards and will have bilateral talks with some presidents later today.
President Gul is also expected to meet Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) President Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu on Monday.
