Top Swedish Envoy Believes Turkey Will Become E.U. Member

MUGLA - The top Swedish envoy in Turkey expressed belief on Monday that Turkey would become a European Union (EU) member.
Christer Asp, the Swedish ambassador to Turkey, assured a mayor in an Aegean province of Turkey that Turkey would become an EU member.
Turkey's membership would benefit not only Turkey but also the Union, Asp told Osman Gurun, the mayor of the Aegean province of Mugla.
Asp said his country was supporting Turkey's EU membership bid, and told the mayor that bilateral relations had gradually improved in recent years.
