ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul hosted a dinner on Monday for the ambassadors of Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries in the Cankaya Presidential Residence.
Speaking at the meeting, Gul said current conflicts in the Middle East continued to hinder peace and stability in the world.
"I believe that new security and cooperation mechanisms and confidence-building measures in the region will contribute to individual settlements to become long-lasting solutions," Gul said, adding that there was also "a serious need" to build holistic, non-exclusionist and joint arrangements.
Gul also said Turkey was ready to work with other countries to devise new and creative ideas for permanent peace, stability and prosperity in the Middle East.
