Representatives Of Leaders In Cyprus Meet To Work Out Details Of Extensive Talks

LEFKOSA - Representatives of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the Greek Cypriot administration met on Monday to plan the details of extensive talks between the parties in the island.
TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat's Special envoy for the UN and EU, Ozdil Nami and Greek Cypriot Chairmanship Advisor George Yakovu met to work out the details of extensive talks between Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias which began with a ceremony on September 3rd.
Talat and Christofias started negotiations last Thursday with discussions on how a proposed federation would be governed, taking up the issue of administration and power sharing. The two leaders will continue negotiations on September 18th with the same topics on the table.
"Political equality is of vital importance for Turkish Cypriots," Talat was quoted by TRT2, Turkey's state-run TV channel, shortly after the meeting on Thursday.
TRNC President had said they reached some common grounds during Thursday's meeting refusing to get into details.
