ANKARA, Aug 23 (AFP) - One person was killed and another injured Monday in an explosion in the Mediterranean Turkish resort of Antalya, a police official told AFP.
The origin of the blast at the harbour`s marina was not immediately known, but Antalya`s deputy police chief, Mujdat Ozcan, told Anatolia news agency two suspects were detained in connection with the explosion, an indication it might be due to a bomb.
Kurdish rebels recently warned they might target tourist resorts in Turkey as part of their separatist struggle. Tourism is Turkey`s top foreign currency earner.
Both victims of Monday`s blast were Turkish teenagers, police said.
The one injured, aged 14, suffered only cuts and bruises and a minor eye injury, according to a doctor at the hospital where he was rushed. The youth could be discharged within hours, he added.
Kurdish rebels, who earlier this month claimed responsibility for bombing two hotels in Istanbul, have warned tourists to stay away from Turkey following the end of their unilateral truce in June.

Antalya, Turkey`s top tourist resort, welcomes millions of foreigners each year, most of them from Germany, Holland, Britain and Russia.
Kurdish separatists targetted foreign tourists in Turkey in 1993 and 1994, both in Istanbul and in beach resorts, killing four.
