Number Of Unemployed In Turkey Stands At 2,237,000

ANKARA - The number of unemployed people in Turkey stood at 2,237,000 in June, up 96,000 when compared to the same term last year.
According to the Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK), unemployment rate in Turkey was nine percent in June, 2008.
The number of employed people went up by 462,000 in June, compared to the same term last year, and reached 22,557,000.
46.3 percent of all Turks employed are unregistered.
