Researchers From Cern To Come Together At A Conference In Istanbul

ANKARA - Researchers from several countries who have taken part in the "Large Hadron Collider (LHC)" experiment at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), will come together at an international conference in Istanbul.
The conference "Enabling Grids For E-SciencE-EGEE" will be hosted by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) at Istanbul`s Harbiye Military Museum on September 22nd and 26th.
The EGEE-III conferences co-funded by the European Commission, take place in a different country each year. The EGEE project brings together experts from more than 50 countries with the common aim of expanding and optimising the Grid infrastructure.
Nearly 600 people from different countries will attend the EGEE`08 in Istanbul. Among the participants were researchers from the vast underground laboratory in Switzerland which launched an experiment last week to re-enact the "Big Bang" on a small scale to explain the origins of the universe and how it came to harbor life.
