TURKISH PASSENGER ALSO DIES
MOSKOVA - A Turkish citizen has been among victims of the plane crash near the Ural Mountains in Russia.
Irina Andrianova, spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, said that the Boeing-737-500 airliner operated by Russia`s national airline Aeroflot crashed while trying to land in the Siberian city of Perm early on Sunday morning, killing all 82 passengers and 6 crew members on board.
Andrianova said that among those killed were 18 foreign nationals from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, the United States, Switzerland, Germany and Latvia.
The Turkish citizen was later identified as 54-year-old Levent Nuri Kocak.
The plane was on an internal flight from Moscow.
