CANAKKALE - U.S. navy ship USS McFaul headed to Marmara Sea after passing through the Canakkale Strait (the Dardanelles) early Saturday.
U.S. destroyer was accompanied by a Turkish coast guard boat along the strait.
Turkish officials did not immediately give any information about the destination of the USS McFaul.
The U.S. Navy destroyer McFaul, the first of the three U.S. navy ships, passed Turkish straits on August 22nd en route to Georgia. The U.S. destroyer carried relief supplies to Georgia`s Black Sea port city of Batumi after the Caucasus conflict erupted last month.
The ship returned to the Aegean Sea on September 1st.
