Northern Cyprus Premier Says His Country Is An Island Of Education

ISTANBUL - Prime Minister of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Friday that his country was an island of education which offered education opportunities to 43,000 students and contributed to world science with its 1,400 academicians.
Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer of TRNC held a press conference on "Higher Education in Education Island TRNC" in Istanbul.
During the conference, Soyer said that universities in TRNC were being ignored because of the unfair isolations imposed due to Cyprus conflict.
Soyer said TRNC offered the best conditions to students and academicians for a safe and healthy education period thanks to its geographical features and peaceful environment.
"TRNC is like a university campus," Soyer said.
He also said that universities contributed remarkably to TRNC`s competition in economy while the country strived for political equality.
Soyer said the Greek Cypriot party should quit fanaticism, participate in student and academician exchange programs with TRNC and benefit from TRNC`s experience in education.
