Russia's Putin In Turkey September 2-3

MOSCOW, Aug 23 (AFP) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Turkey on September 2 and 3, the Kremlin said Monday, for talks expected to center on oil and economic cooperation.
Putin will meet his Turkish counterpart, Ahmet Necdet Sezer, and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara and will also visit the industrial city of Izmir, the Kremlin said in a statement.
The English-language daily The Moscow Times reported earlier this month that a proposed Turkish pipeline for Russian oil known as the Trans-Thracian pipeline would probably figure high on the agenda for Putin's discussions with Turkish leaders.
The pipeline would permit Russian oil to reach the Mediterranean from the Black Sea without having to pass through the congested Bosphorous Straits.
