BAGHDAD, Aug 22 (AFP) - Three US marines were killed in separate attacks in Iraq's volatile western province of Al-Anbar, the military said Sunday.
One marine was killed in action on Saturday, while the two others died from wounds received in separate attacks on the same day, said a statement.
Another marine also died in a road accident when his Humvee ploughed into a US tank, flipped and crashed in the province, which is home to the infamous flashpoint cities of Fallujah and Ramadi.
According to the most recent statistics on the Pentagon website, 708 US soldiers have been killed in action since the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq.
