STOCKHOLM - Turkish State Minister Nimet Cubukcu participated Tuesday in a conference on "Building a Europe for and with Children" in Stockholm, Sweden.
Delivering a speech, Cubukcu said thousands of children died everyday because of preventable illnesses, and child abuse, poverty and violence threatened both children and future of the world.
"And Obviously we have failed to devise ways to lead our children to hope, peace, love and future, things which we often call our children with," Cubukcu said.
The Turkish minister also told the conference about Turkey's efforts to strengthen the protection of children in the country as part of its European Union reforms.
