Sabah - Prime Minister Erdogan gave a speech at the ruling party's district congress yesterday, which included certain statements about media mogul Aydin Dogan.
Erdogan stated: "Aydin Dogan came to me to request turning the property in front of the Hilton Hotel into residences. However, I turned down his request. He then consulted with Istanbul's Governor Kadir Topbas."
Erdogan also referred to the allegations of corruption made surrounding the Deniz Feneri Charity Organization and his connection to the organization as being both lies and a smear campaign: "Dogan claims having an official report about the irregular transactions on the aid to be sent to the tsunami region; however, the alleged report is just a piece of paper without a signature or date on it. I never signed the said document."
