ANGERS - Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag said on Monday that targets of the European Union (EU) to deal with contagious diseases were important for the region and the world.
In an exclusive interview with the A.A correspondent, Akdag, currently in Angers, France to attend an informal meeting of health ministers of the European Union, said the primary goal of the 2-day meeting was to assess what to be done against contagious diseases and related crises, probable precautions, as well as cooperation.
Akdag said he would inform the EU ministers about the experiences of Turkey in dealing with the bird flu.
Akdag added that the EU ministers aimed at developing mutual targets and methods to overcome the crises.
