Roche Should Indemnify S.S.K., Gursoy Says

ISTANBUL - Prof. Dr. Gencay Gursoy, Chairman of Istanbul Chamber of Doctors said on Friday that Roche company should indemnify Turkish Social Security Organization (SSK).
Gursoy held a press conference on Roche company's medicine sales to SSK more expensively than other purchasers.
''Roche company should compensate SSK for its losses,'' Gursoy noted.
Secretary General Dr. Ali Cerkezoglu noted that SSK's care expenses amounted to approximately 5.4 quadrillion Turkish liras (TL) in 2003, adding that half of it was paid to medicine companies.
''A sound approach should immediately be adopted in health policies of Labor & Social Security and Health Ministries, to preclude not to go through such events in the future'', Cerkezoglu added.
