BAGHDAD, Aug 20 (AFP) - Iraqi police on Friday entered the Imam Ali shrine in Najaf after Shiite Muslim militia agreed to leave and hand over the keys to Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, an interior ministry spokesman said.
"Yes, that is correct," Sabah Kadhim told AFP, confirming that Iraqi police were inside the mausoleum, one of the holiest pilgrimage centres for Shiites all over the world.
