ISTANBUL - President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) met Istanbul Chamber of Trade (ITO) executives on Wednesday.
Talat had a luncheon with ITO Chairman Murat Yalcintas and executive board members.
Delivering a speech before the luncheon, Talat said a new process has begun in Cyprus and they hoped this process would end with an agreement.
"We will work to have an agreement that will preserve rights of Turkish Cypriot people and make us live safely and prosperously in the future. We will act with good will and we expect a similar manner from the other party," Talat said.
He said Turkish Cypriots were certain that Turkey would keep assisting TRNC.
Yalcintas said TRNC`s President Talat launched several important initiatives and ITO would always stand by Turkish Cypriot people.
