ISTANBUL - World`s third biggest tractor maker Mahindra & Mahindra, market leader in India, said Wednesday it had entered Turkish market with a Turkish partner.
Mahindra & Mahindra operates six plants in India, three in the United States, and has joint ventures in China.
Anjanikumar Choudhari, president of company`s Farm Equipment Sector, said that nearly 40,000 tractors were manufactured and sold in Turkey which made it an important market for Mahindra & Mahindra.
Ilce Group, Mahindra`s Turkish partner, has set up a plant with a capacity of 4,000 tractors yearly. Ilce Group will bring parts and assemble tractors locally.
Mahindra & Mahindra aims to sell 170,000 tractors globally and 1,000 tractors in a year in Turkey.
