VAN/CANAKKALE/AYDIN - Turkish security forces arrested 208 illegal migrants in their operations throughout the country on Monday.
Security forces captured 52 illegal migrants in an operation they staged in Gevas town of the eastern province of Van.
In a separate operation in Ayvacik town of the western province of Canakkale, coast guard detained 59 illegal migrants who wanted to sneak into Greek island of Lesbos.
In other operations in Didim and Soke town of the western province of Aydin, coast guard arrested 97 illegal migrants.
The illegal migrants were of Pakistani, Afghan, Somali, Palestinian, Mauritanian, Iraqi, Eritrean, and Burmese origin.
All the illegal migrants will be deported once legal proceedings are completed.
