ANKARA - Turkish energy minister said on Monday there was no delay on the date of bidding for the tender process on nuclear power station which was set as September 24th.
At a news conference in Ankara, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said, "we will open envelopes on September 24th because we don`t have time to waste."
The government attached great importance to nuclear energy since it was cheap, sustainable and environmentally friendly, he stated.
Turkey plans to build a nuclear power plant with a capacity between 3000 or 5000 megawatts. Turkish Electricity Trading and Contracting Inc. (TETAS) will sign a contract with the best bidder to buy power for at least 15 years.
