77th Izmir International Fair Opened

IZMIR - The 77th Izmir International Fair (IEF) was opened with a ceremony at Lozan Square in the western province of Izmir on Friday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu said that IEF had an important role in Turkish economy, adding that Izmir International Fair had been held for 77 years which was a special success in world fair sector.
Kocaoglu said that tens of thousands of companies made business connections thanks to IEF so far.
He said that 58 countries were participating in this year's fair.
Kocaoglu said that they were expecting 1,043 companies to attend the fair, and to host 1,5 million visitors. He added that the main theme of the fair was global warming and climate change.
