ANKARA - Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay met Wednesday his Syrian counterpart Basam Abd al-Majid and the accompanying Syrian delegation in Ankara.
Atalay said before the meeting that he would talk with his counterpart issues such as terrorism and border security, and review several cooperation agreements signed earlier between the two countries.
"Despite some problems the two countries had in the past, our relations have been running on the highest levels for the last decade and I think that our meeting today will be fruitful assessing all issues regarding security," Atalay told reporters.
Abd al-Majid said on his part that "Turkish-Syrian relations had make a peak" over the last years, adding that they aim to further develop bilateral relations.
