ANKARA - Ambassador Mehmet Yigit Alpogan was appointed as the Secretary General of the National Security Council (NSC) on Tuesday.
Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer approved the decree that foresaw appointment of Alpogan as the NSC Secretary General, and the decision was issued in the Official Gazette.
Thus, Alpogan became the first civilian NSC Secretary General.
