Turkish Warplanes Hit Terrorist Hideout In Northern Iraq

ANKARA - Turkish fighter jets bombed a group of PKK terrorists in the north of Iraq late on Saturday, Turkish military said.
Turkish General Staff said in a statement posted in its website on Sunday that Turkish warplanes hit a cave in which a crowded group of PKK terrorists took shelter in Avasin-Basyan region of northern Iraq.
The terrorists were about to attack Turkey, the statement said.
Turkish military did not give any other details.
Turkey has conducted frequent air raids on PKK terrorists in northern Iraq. The United States and the European Union consider the PKK a terrorist group, and Washington has been sharing intelligence to help Turkey fight the terrorists.
