Turkish Suspect Of Plane Bomb Threat Arrested

ZAGREB, Aug 17 (AFP) - A Turkish man suspected of orchestrating a hoax bomb threat in a Croatian aircraft has been arrested by German police, Croatian officials said Tuesday.
German police have asked for a judicial inquiry to be opened against the Turkish man, identified only by the initials K.S., who lives in Frankfurt, the Hina agency said citing the Croatian interior ministry.
It referred to a report sent by the German Interpol office to Zagreb.
The suspect is believed to have been behind a bomb threat in a Croatian Airlines plane, leading to the evacuation of all its passengers after the aircraft landed Sunday in Frankfurt, Germany.
No explosive device was discovered on the Airbus A319 during a search of the plane which had come from Zagreb.
According to the Interpol report, the suspect's motives were not political in nature, nor are they linked to terror threats, the ministry added.
