ERZINCAN - A roadside bomb exploded in eastern province of Erzincan, killing nine soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel, two specialist sergeants and six privates, an official said on Monday.
Terrorists detonated a land mine near a road by a remote control while a military vehicle was passing by, said Ali Gungor, Governor of Erzincan.
The soldiers were coming back from an operation in rural part of the province, Gungor said.
A captain and another private were wounded in the blast, he added.
Earlier in the day, officials said that eight soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in the ambush.
Gungor said one of the soldiers died at the hospital, raising the death toll to nine.
