ERZURUM - The fire, which has been continuing on Turkish section of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline since August 5th, was extinguished on Monday.
Authorities said that the fire, which started on a pump after an explosion and had been continuing under control, was put out today.
The blaze, which hit the Turkish section of the BTC pipeline in Refahiye town of eastern province of Erzincan, disrupted oil flow to Turkey`s Mediterranean port of Ceyhan.
Earlier, Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said that a technical assessment would be made once the fire was put out, which was expected to reveal the damage and whether the fire was caused by a sabotage.
