Nine Turkish Athletes To Compete On First Day Of Olympic Games

BEIJING - Nine Turkish athletes will compete in five events on Saturday in Olympic Games which will formally begin tonight in Beijing, China.
Turkish women weightlifters Nurcan Taylan and Sibel Ozkan will compete on 48 kg category, while Zekiya Keskin Satir, in women`s category, and Goktug Yusuf Ergin, in men`s category, will compete in archery.
Yusuf Dikec will be the only Turkish athlete who will compete in shooting tomorrow.
In swimming, three Turkish swimmers, Deniz Nazar, Iris Rosenberger and Demir Atasoy, will compete tomorrow.
Bahram Muzaffer will compete in boxing on 81 kg.
The Olympic Games will take place between August 8th and 24th in Beijing. Approximately 10,500 athletes are expected to participate in the Games, with around 20,000 accredited media.
