FRANKFURT, Aug 15 (AFP) - A false bomb threat forced a German passenger jet bound for Frankfurt to make an emergency landing in Budapest Sunday, a spokesman for Lufthansa airlines said.
In Frankfurt, Germany's busiest airport, the passengers of a Croatian Airlines flight were meanwhile evacuated from their plane after a bomb alert.
An airport official told AFP that no explosives were found on the Croatian Airbus A319 which was on a Zagreb-to-Frankfurt flight. Police was not immediately available for further details.
Lufthansa's Airbus 321, on a flight from Istanbul to Frankfurt with 169 people on board, was forced to land in the Hungarian capital at about 1315 GMT -- one hour after take-off -- after the German airline received an anonymous warning there was a bomb on board, the spokesman said.
A search of the jet on the ground revealed no explosives, he said, adding that the plane was due to fly to Frankfurt later Sunday.
Last month, a bomb hoax in Frankfurt forced the grounding and evacuation of a plane bound for Bangladesh.
The Biman Bangladesh jet carrying 145 passengers from Rome was making a stop-over in Frankfurt when police in Berlin received an anonymous phone call warning of explosives on board.
