A car bomb explosion has struck the northern Iraqi town of Tal Afar near the city of Mosul, leaving 18 people killed and 25 wounded.
The bomb attack happened on Friday at a vegetable market in Tal Afar, 420 km (260 miles) northwest of the capital, Baghdad, Reuters reported.
The attack was the deadliest since terrorist bombers targeted Shi'a pilgrims in Baghdad and a protest by Kurds in Kirkuk last month, killing a total of about 60 people.
