ANKARA - Republican People's Party (CHP) Discipline Board decided to discharge Istanbul deputies Ahmet Guryuz Ketenci and Hasan Aydin and Ankara deputy Mehmet Tomanbay from CHP on Sunday.
12 members of CHP Discipline Board voted in favor of discharge of Ketenci, Aydin and Tomanbay from the party, while two members of the board voted against their discharge.
CHP Discipline Board Chairman Ismet Canakci told reporters that they asked for written and verbal defense of three deputies, stating that but they did not make any defense.
Canakci noted that 14 members of the board convened and 12 of them voted in favor of discharge of those three deputies.
Ketenci, Aydin and Tomanbay were sent to Discipline Board with decision of CHP Assembly on July 28. Decision on their discharge was taken according to the provision in CHP regulations on ''assuming attitude which does not comply with membership of the party'', officials said.
After discharge of three deputies, the number of CHP's deputies in the parliament reduced from 171 to 168.
