WASHINGTON D.C. - United States is getting ready to transfer two more Perry Class frigates to Turkish Naval Forces Command.
U.S. President George W. Bush signed the decision regarding the frigates which was adopted by two flanks of the Congress, Senate and House of Representatives.
One of the frigates will be transferred to Turkey on a grant basis and the other would be sold.
Turkey will pay the maintenance expenses in the United States.
United States had prepared a plan last year to transfer allied countries warships under the Excess Defense Article (EDA) program and proposed the two frigates in question to Turkey.
Turkish Naval Forces procured 8 Perry Class frigates from the United States before.
