TBILISI - Officials from Georgia and separatist South Ossetia will hold landmark direct talks on August 7, a spokeswoman for Georgian Reintegration Minister Temur Yakobashvili told AFP on Tuesday.

"There is an agreement to hold a meeting in Tskhinvali on August 7," said the spokeswoman, Marina Salukvadze, referring to the capital of the unrecognised province of South Ossetia in the Caucasus mountains.
