Bahraini King Welcomed With Military Honors At Presidential Palace

ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul welcomed King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa of Bahrain with full military honors at the Cankaya Presidential Palace on Monday.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan and Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan were also in attendance at the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, King Hamad and President Gul had at a tete-a-tete meeting.
The two leaders were expected to discuss political, economic, commercial and cultural relations, as well as regional and international issues, officials said.
Bahraini King will also meet Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan before attending a banquet to be hosted by Turkish President Gul later in the day.
The King is scheduled to meet Chief of Turkish General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit on Tuesday.
King Hamad's visit is the first of its kind in "President" level from Bahrain to Turkey.
