Forest Fire In Antalya Partially Under Control As Wind Slows Down

ANTALYA - Fire fighters have partially taken under control a forest fire in the southern province of Antalya as wind slowed down, a forest official said Sunday.
"The risk has been reduced and fire`s spread has been stopped. We have done most of the job and we can fully control the blaze in the afternoon if the wind does not get strong again," Mustafa Kurtulmuslu told reporters.
Kurtulmuslu said that workers were backed by 12 firefighting aircrafts.
Forestry Minister Veysel Eroglu estimated earlier that between 3,500 and 4,000 hectares were burned by the fire, and 60 houses were destroyed. Also, two people were reported to be missing.
