MADRID - A European court has ruled to determine "the European Union status" of Turkish and other international sportspeople practicing in EU countries, a Spanish sportive lawyer said on Saturday.
The Court of Justice of the European Communities ruled to grant the EU status of sportspeople whose countries had a partnership agreement with the European Economic Union (EEC), lawyer Juan de Dios Crespo Perez said in a written statement.
Turkish striker Nihat Kahveci, who has been playing with the EU status in Spain`s Villareal, will have the same status in all EU countries.
