Turkish Exports Up In July

MUGLA - Turkish exports were up 38.77 percent in July 2008 when compared to July 2007, an exporters` union announced on Friday.
Turkey`s Exporters` Assembly (TIM) announced export figures in July 2008 in a press conference in the Aegean province of Mugla which was also attended by State Minister Kursad Tuzmen.
According to TIM`s figures, Turkish exports were up 38.77 percent in July 2008 and reached 12.2 billion USD.
Turkey earned 79.4 billion USD from exports from January to July 2008, which indicated a 36.51 percent rise over to the same period of 2007.
One-year exports from Turkey were 30.90 percent up, and reached 127.2 billion USD.
Automotive sector was again the engine of exports in July, which was followed by iron-steel and ready-to-wear industries.
